Jessica P. Squiabro Pierce, FNP-C


Jessica was born and raised on the Island of St Thomas, USVI.  Jessica persued her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and graduated from Mississippi College in 2017.    She has been previously employed as a Charge Nurse and Recovery Room Nurse.  Jessica is currently a adjunct University Nursing Professor.  She also implemented and coordinated orientation for Graduate Nurses at local hospitals in Florida.  She was the first Registered Nurse to receive the Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses at Sebastian River Medical Center on July 18, 2019.


She has also been nominated for Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses at Sebastian River Medical Center August 2019 through March 2020.She is a member of two international honor societies: Golden Key International Honor Society- UVI, St. Thomas Chapter and Sigma Theta Tau- South University, Phi Kappa Chapter.  She is also the Presidentof Oncology Nursing Society of the Treasure Coast Chapter in Florida.


Jessica Squiabro Pierce graduated with High Honors from South University in Savannah Georgia in 2019 with a Master of Science in Nursing degree.  She is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner and is currently practicing Medicine alongside Starleen Schaffer, MD at Connect Care Primary Care Center.  She is pursuing a Doctor in Nursing Practice degree at South University in Savannah Georgia with an anticipated graduation date of December of 2021. 

Jessica Also enjoys spending time with her supportive husband and wonderful children along with her little dog.  

Starleen Celeste Schaffer, MD

Starleen grew up outside of Buffalo, New York.  Starleen earned her Bachelors of Science degree from the State University of NY at Buffalo.  She the went on to the Roswell Cancer Institute in Buffalo, where she was a co-author in a major genetics study which was published.  

Starleen attended Medical School at the State University of NY at Buffalo, where she earned her Medical Degree.  To further prepare for her medical career, Dr. Schaffer attended a residency program at Jackson Memorial Trauma Center in a combined residency program in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.  Starleen went on to further train in a residency program at Eastern State Medical Hospital in Tennessee.  Starleen spent her training time there being Chief Resident and extended her training at the local Veteran's Administration Hospital.

Starleen opened her solo Medical Practice in Sebastian Florida in late 2020.  She has been on staff and affiliated with Sebastian River Medical Center throughout her career.  She treats patients from as young as 8, but focuses on adult care.  Starleen is capable of treating a vast array of chronic medical conditions, but also likes to focus on preventative care.  In order to provide care to more community members, Dr. Schaffer has recently brought on a Nurse Practitioner who compliments her own practice style. 
Starleen enjoys spending time with her husband and three children and her two small dogs.
